Description

Romance is Fontaines D.C.’s fourth studio album and their first collaboration with producer James Ford. It marks a sonic evolution for the Dublin-born, London-based band, blending post-punk grit with experimental textures drawn from grunge, electronica, and hip-hop. The album explores themes of emotional survival, fantasy vs. reality, and the fragility of love in chaotic times.

Frontman Grian Chatten describes the record as “protecting a tiny flame at the end of the world,” while guitarist Carlos O’Connell adds that it’s about “deciding what’s fantasy—the tangible world, or where you go in your mind.” The result is a bold, genre-defying release that builds on the success of Skinty Fia and their 2023 Brit Award win.
