Collection: ABBA Vinyl Records – Classic Albums & Greatest Hits on Vinyl

ABBA are one of the best-selling groups in music history, and for good reason. Beneath the Eurovision image and the sequined costumes lies some of the most sophisticated pop songwriting ever recorded. Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus crafted melodies that are deceptively complex — key changes, minor-key melancholy hidden inside major-key choruses, and arrangements that rival anything in classical composition. The vocals from Agnetha and Frida are extraordinary.

Their catalogue sounds superb on vinyl. The original recordings were analogue, and the warmth and depth of the production — those layered harmonies, the precise rhythm section, the orchestral touches — come through beautifully on a good pressing. If you only know the hits, the album cuts will surprise you.

Best ABBA Albums on Vinyl

Arrival (1976) The album that made ABBA global. "Dancing Queen," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "Money, Money, Money," and "Fernando" — four of the greatest pop singles ever written, all on one record. The deeper cuts are just as strong.

ABBA: The Album (1977) Written partly for the film project that became ABBA: The Movie. "Eagle," "Take a Chance on Me," and "The Name of the Game" — ambitious, expansive pop with progressive leanings. Underrated in the catalogue.

Voulez-Vous (1979) Their disco-influenced record. "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!," "Does Your Mother Know," and "Chiquitita" — the production is immense and the rhythms are irresistible. Sounds phenomenal on vinyl.

Super Trouper (1980) "The Winner Takes It All" is on this album — possibly the greatest pop ballad ever written. "Super Trouper" and "Lay All Your Love on Me" complete a remarkably strong tracklist. Darker and more reflective than the earlier records.

The Visitors (1981) ABBA's final studio album of the original era and their most experimental. Synths, cold-war anxiety, and the emotional fallout of two divorces run through every track. "One of Us," "When All Is Said and Done," and the haunting title track. Critically reassessed as one of their finest.

Voyage (2021) Forty years after The Visitors, a comeback nobody expected. "I Still Have Faith in You" and "Don't Shut Me Down" proved the songwriting was intact. Not a nostalgia exercise — a genuine new ABBA album.
