Collection: The Smiths Vinyl Records – Classic Albums & Essential Reissues
The Smiths remain one of the most influential British bands of all time — a brief, brilliant four-album run between 1984 and 1987 that reshaped indie rock and left a mark felt in every guitar band that followed. Morrissey's sardonic, literary lyrics and Johnny Marr's jangly, inventive guitar work were a perfect pairing: melancholic but melodic, bleak but strangely life-affirming. Their music connects as powerfully now as it did in the mid-80s, and on vinyl it sounds exactly as it should — warm, intimate, and immediate.
This collection brings together the essential Smiths studio albums and key reissues. Whether you're starting with The Queen Is Dead or filling out a complete catalogue, these are pressings worth owning.

Best The Smiths Albums on Vinyl
The Queen Is Dead (1986)
Their masterpiece and one of the greatest British albums ever made. Swings between grandeur and despair, wit and heartbreak. "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out," "Bigmouth Strikes Again," and "The Boy with the Thorn in His Side" — essential on vinyl.
The Smiths (1984)
The debut that announced them fully formed. Raw production, instant classics. "This Charming Man," "What Difference Does It Make?" and "Hand in Glove" laid the template for everything that followed.
Meat Is Murder (1985)
A sharper, more political record than the debut. "How Soon Is Now?" is the centrepiece — one of the most distinctive guitar sounds ever recorded. A must-own pressing.
Strangeways, Here We Come (1987)
Their final album, and a fittingly strange, orchestral sign-off. More layered and ambitious than anything before it. "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me" and "There Is a Light" are among their finest moments.
Hatful of Hollow (1984)
A compilation of BBC sessions and early singles that in many ways captures the band at their most vital. Often the first recommendation for new listeners alongside the debut.
The World Won't Listen (1987)
A singles and B-sides collection covering their peak period. If you want "Shoplifters of the World Unite," "Ask," and "Panic" on one record, this is it.
