Collection: Aretha Franklin Vinyl Records

Aretha Franklin's Atlantic Records run from 1967 onwards produced some of the most consequential soul music ever recorded. The records made at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals and at Atlantic in New York paired her gospel-trained voice with the Memphis rhythm section, the Muscle Shoals horns and the Sweet Inspirations — a sound that has barely aged.

Her gospel record Amazing Grace, recorded live at New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in 1972, sits in a category of its own. Pressed onto vinyl it is one of the most powerful live recordings ever issued.

Best Aretha Franklin Albums on Vinyl

I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You (1967)
— Her Atlantic debut. "Respect", "Do Right Woman", and the album that established the FAME sound on her records.

Lady Soul (1968)
— "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", "Chain of Fools", "Since You've Been Gone". A near-perfect run of songs.

Amazing Grace (1972)
— The live gospel double album recorded over two nights with the Southern California Community Choir. Spiritually and musically extraordinary.

Spirit in the Dark (1970)
— Often overlooked between the better-known records. Looser, funkier, with the Dixie Flyers rhythm section.
