Collection: Elliott Smith Vinyl Records

Elliott Smith built a body of work between 1994 and his death in 2003 that has only grown in influence in the years since. The early records — Roman Candle, Elliott Smith, Either/Or — were home-recorded, double-tracked-vocal, fingerpicked guitar; the later DreamWorks albums opened up to Beatles-influenced arrangements without losing the intimacy.

The pressings benefit hugely from vinyl: the close-mic'd vocals and the room sound of the early records were never meant to be MP3-compressed.
