Kneecap are the most unexpected success story in Irish music in decades. The Belfast trio — Mo Chara (Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh), Móglaí Bap (Naoise Ó Cairealláin) and their balaclava-wearing DJ Próvaí (JJ Ó Dochartaigh) — rap primarily in Irish and English, often on the same verse, and have turned what was for years a marginal linguistic position into one of the sharpest pop-cultural propositions of the 2020s.

Their 2024 album Fine Art is a concept record set in a fictional Belfast pub called The Rutz, part party album, part political manifesto, part genuinely funny sketch comedy. Released alongside the self-titled film that premiered at Sundance in early 2024 and took them from cult act to mainstream attention. Kneecap on vinyl is a particular collector's proposition — the Fine Art Tricolour coloured-vinyl edition is already a sought-after release, and the record is genuinely well-produced, mixing hip-hop production with traditional Irish music in ways that reward proper listening on a good stereo.
