Morrissey Vinyl Records

Morrissey's solo career launched in 1988 with Viva Hate, recorded almost immediately after the dissolution of The Smiths. The albums since have ranged across confessional baroque pop, rockabilly-flavoured rock and orchestrated melodrama, with his lyric writing and instantly-recognisable vocal phrasing as the through-line.

The records are particularly suited to vinyl: the production has always favoured warm, mid-forward arrangements that benefit from the LP format. The Vauxhall and I and Your Arsenal pressings are particularly cherished.
