Collection: Nick Mason Vinyl Records

Nick Mason's solo and side-project output sits as a curious counterpoint to his long career as Pink Floyd's drummer. The two 1980s solo records — Fictitious Sports and Profiles — are odd, jazz-fusion-influenced sets that have grown more interesting in retrospect. The recent Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets project, which has been touring and recording the pre-Dark Side Pink Floyd material since 2018, has produced live records of genuine value to Floyd fans.

The vinyl pressings of the recent Saucerful of Secrets material in particular are well-cut, and the Pink Floyd connection makes them increasingly collected.

Best Nick Mason Albums on Vinyl

Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets — Live at the Roundhouse (2020)
— The band performing the early Pink Floyd catalogue live. Beautifully recorded.

Fictitious Sports (1981)
— His first solo record, with music written by Carla Bley and vocals by Robert Wyatt. Strange, brilliant, often overlooked.

Profiles (1985)
— Co-credited with Rick Fenn. More straightforward 80s-rock than Fictitious Sports.
