The Dave Brubeck Quartet Vinyl Records

The Dave Brubeck Quartet defined what cool jazz could be commercially. The classic 1958-1967 lineup with Paul Desmond on alto saxophone, Eugene Wright on bass and Joe Morello on drums produced Time Out — the first jazz LP to sell over a million copies — and a run of follow-up records exploring unusual time signatures that brought serious modern jazz to a mainstream audience.

The vinyl pressings of the Columbia catalogue are reference-quality. The Acoustic Sounds and Analogue Productions reissues from the original tapes give Desmond's tone and the Wright-Morello rhythm section the room they need.
