Blood on the Tracks is the fifteenth studio album by Bob Dylan, released on 20 January 1975 on Columbia Records. Widely regarded as one of the greatest albums ever made, it was a creative comeback after a period of uneven releases in the early 1970s and is often interpreted as a response to the breakdown of Dylan's marriage to Sara Lownds, though Dylan himself has resisted autobiographical readings.

The album was recorded in two separate sessions: the first in September 1974 at A&R Recording in New York with a small group of session musicians, and the second in December 1974 at Sound 80 in Minneapolis, where Dylan re-recorded five of the ten tracks with local musicians after deciding the New York versions were too polished. The Minneapolis sessions gave songs like Tangled Up in Blue, Idiot Wind and Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts a rawer, more immediate quality.

Tangled Up in Blue opens the album with one of Dylan's most celebrated narratives, a time-shifting story of love and loss told across shifting perspectives. Simple Twist of Fate and You're a Big Girl Now are achingly tender, while Idiot Wind is a bitter, accusatory tour de force that builds from quiet fury to full-band catharsis. Shelter from the Storm and Buckets of Rain close the album with a hard-won sense of resolution.
