Luck and Strange is the fifth solo studio album by David Gilmour, released on 6 September 2024 on Sony Music. It is his first album of new material in nine years, following 2015's Rattle That Lock, and represents a creative resurgence driven by new collaborations and a renewed focus on atmosphere and melody.

Recorded at Gilmour's home studio in Brighton with sessions at Medina Studios, the album was produced by Gilmour with Charlie Andrew (known for his work with Alt-J). Lyrics were written by Gilmour's wife, the novelist and playwright Polly Samson. The result is an album that sits comfortably alongside Gilmour's finest work: unhurried, richly textured guitar playing over lush arrangements, with songs that reward close listening.

The Piper's Call is a standout, with Gilmour's voice riding over a slow-building arrangement that recalls the grandeur of Pink Floyd without imitating it. Luck and Strange itself is a collaborative piece that originated from a 2007 jam session, reworked decades later with fresh perspective. Between Two Points, featuring vocals by Gilmour's daughter Romany, is a tender highlight, and Scattered closes the album with a sense of gentle resolution.

This indie exclusive edition is pressed on opaque silver vinyl and comes with a booklet in a gatefold sleeve.
