Encore is the fifth studio album from Eminem, originally released in November 2004 on Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records. It debuted at number one in nineteen countries including the US and UK, and sold over 1.5 million copies in its first week in the United States alone. The album followed The Eminem Show and found Marshall Mathers at a crossroads — oscillating between the confessional intensity of his earlier work and a broader, more provocative irreverence.

Executive produced by Dr. Dre, the record is built around a core of Dre-produced tracks alongside Eminem’s own self-productions with Luis Resto and Steve King. Mockingbird stands as one of Eminem’s most personal tracks, a letter to his daughters that strips away the theatrical persona almost entirely. Like Toy Soldiers addresses the escalating feuds within hip-hop with an unusual directness, while Mosh channels political anger into one of the album’s most focused performances. The album also features guest appearances from 50 Cent, Nate Dogg, Obie Trice, D12, and Stat Quo. Mastered by Brian “Big Bass” Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering.
