Solar Power is the third studio album by Lorde, released on Universal and Republic Records. Following the critical and commercial success of Melodrama, Lorde retreated from the spotlight and spent time in New Zealand and Antarctica before returning with an album that traded the dark, synth-heavy production of its predecessors for something warmer, more acoustic and deliberately sun-drenched.

Produced by Jack Antonoff with contributions from Lorde herself, the album draws on 1970s soft rock, Primal Scream-era psychedelia and the breezy feel of George Harrison's All Things Must Pass. The title track, Solar Power, opens with birdsong and acoustic guitar before building into an infectious, carefree chorus. Stoned at the Nail Salon is a quietly anxious meditation on ageing and choices, while California reflects on the emptiness of fame. The Path sets the album's themes early, and Mood Ring is a sly, satirical take on wellness culture.

The album was notably released without a CD edition, with Lorde citing environmental concerns and instead offering a "music box" made from recycled materials. This black vinyl pressing presents the full 12-track album on a single LP.
