Description

Death Or Glory (originally released as Bastards) is the eleventh studio album by Motorhead, first issued on ZTT Records. It was the first album recorded by what would become the band's longest-serving and most stable lineup: Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee. Where the preceding album March or Die had been a troubled, label-influenced affair, Bastards saw Motorhead reassert their independence and deliver one of their most focused records of the 1990s.

The album opens with On Your Feet or on Your Knees, a driving statement of intent. Burner is classic high-speed Motorhead. The title track Death Or Glory is a mid-tempo stomper with one of Lemmy's most memorable choruses. Born to Raise Hell became a fan favourite and was later re-recorded with Ice-T and Whitfield Crane for the Airheads soundtrack. Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me is one of the band's darkest songs, addressing child abuse with unflinching directness. I Am the Sword and Lost in the Ozone showcase the band at full throttle, while Devils closes with a brooding intensity.
