Description

A genre-defying classic, Rust Never Sleeps captures Neil Young’s duality—acoustic introspection on Side A, electric ferocity on Side B. Backed by Crazy Horse, the album swings from the haunting Thrasher to the blistering Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black), foreshadowing the rise of grunge and alternative rock. It’s a sonic manifesto of decay, defiance, and artistic reinvention.

This 2017 remastered edition is part of the Neil Young Archives Official Release Series, pressed on 180g vinyl and housed in a replica sleeve with printed inner and lyrics insert. Remastered from the original analog tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, it preserves the raw dynamics and analog warmth of the original mix.
