Description

Oasis' sixth studio album Don't Believe The Truth was originally released on Big Brother Records in May 2005 and marked a creative resurgence for the band. For the first time, all five members contributed songs, with Andy Bell writing the opening Turn Up The Sun, Gem Archer co-writing Love Like A Bomb with Liam Gallagher, and Liam himself penning The Meaning Of Soul and Guess God Thinks I'm Abel alongside the Gallagher brothers' contributions.

The album features the hit singles Lyla, The Importance Of Being Idle and Let There Be Love. Noel Gallagher takes lead vocals on several tracks including the Kinks-influenced The Importance Of Being Idle and the reflective Part Of The Queue, while Liam delivers standout performances on Love Like A Bomb and the album closer Let There Be Love. Guest contributions include Martin Duffy on piano and Lenny Castro on percussion.

This 2009 reissue on Big Brother presents the album on 180g heavyweight vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with brand new sleeve notes.
