Description

Blizzard of Ozz is the solo debut by Ozzy Osbourne following his departure from Black Sabbath, and the album that introduced guitarist Randy Rhoads to the world. Rhoads's classical training and virtuoso technique, combined with Osbourne's distinctive vocal style, created a new blueprint for heavy metal guitar that would influence the genre throughout the 1980s.

Crazy Train opens with one of the most famous riffs in rock history, its driving rhythm and Rhoads's fluid soloing making it Osbourne's signature solo track. Mr. Crowley is a dramatic, keyboard-laden piece built around a descending chord progression, featuring two of Rhoads's most celebrated solos. I Don't Know is a straightforward rocker that showcases the chemistry between Rhoads and bassist Bob Daisley. Revelation (Mother Earth) and Steal Away (The Night) demonstrate the range of an album that balanced commercial hooks with genuine musical ambition.
