Three Ragas is an early recording by sitar master Ravi Shankar that captures one of the greatest musicians of the twentieth century performing the classical music of North India. Shankar's extraordinary technique, melodic inventiveness and ability to build extended improvisations of riveting intensity made him the most internationally celebrated exponent of Indian classical music.

Each raga follows the traditional structure, beginning with a slow, meditative alap that gradually introduces the notes of the raga, building through increasingly complex improvisation before reaching the rhythmic gat section accompanied by tabla. The interplay between Shankar's sitar and the tabla creates a dialogue of extraordinary rhythmic sophistication. This WaxTime reissue presents the original recordings on 180 gram vinyl.
