Late Night Final is the second studio album by Sheffield singer, songwriter and guitarist Richard Hawley, released in October 2001 on Setanta Records. Named after the cry of vendors selling the Sheffield Star evening newspaper on the streets of his home city, it is the record that first revealed the full depth of his gifts — a singer of rare emotional authority, a guitarist with a gift for atmosphere, and a songwriter who could make the intimate feel cinematic. Recorded at Fly Studios, Priority Studios and Yellow Arch Studio in Sheffield, it remains for many listeners his finest work.

The album balances wistful, orchestrated pop with darker instrumental passages and a recurring sense of late-night solitude. "Baby, You're My Light" was released as a single in early 2002 and has since become one of his signature songs, while "The Nights Are Cold" — later covered by Camera Obscura — "Can You Hear the Rain, Love" and the mournful instrumental "Precious Sight" demonstrate the range of a songwriter working entirely on his own terms. The closing "The Light at the End of the Tunnel (Was a Train Coming the Other Way)", featuring backing vocals from Saskia Cocker, is a quietly devastating finale.
