Description

Arise is the fourth studio album by Sepultura and the record that made the Brazilian thrash metal band an international force. Produced by Scott Burns at Morrisound Studios, the album's combination of precision, speed and brutal heaviness placed it alongside the finest thrash releases of the early 1990s.

The title track Arise opens with a tribal drum pattern before launching into one of the band's most ferocious riffs. Dead Embryonic Cells became a fan favourite for its relentless pace and Max Cavalera's commanding vocal delivery. Desperate Cry is the album's most ambitious track, its tempo changes and extended instrumental passages showing a band reaching beyond the boundaries of thrash. Under Siege (Regnum Irae) and Subtraction maintain the intensity throughout. This expanded 2LP edition includes bonus tracks and rarities from the era.
