Description

Hurry Up Tomorrow is The Weeknd's sixth and final studio album — the closing chapter of the trilogy that began with After Hours (2020) and continued with Dawn FM (2022). Released on 31 January 2025 via XO and Republic Records, it debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 490,500 album-equivalent units in its first week — his fifth US chart-topper — and simultaneously topped the charts in 16 other countries, including the UK, Canada, France, Australia and New Zealand. The album was declared his final release under the Weeknd name; Abel Tesfaye has confirmed he will continue making music under his birth name.

Partly conceived in the aftermath of a dramatic September 2022 incident at SoFi Stadium — when Tesfaye lost his voice mid-performance during the After Hours til Dawn Tour, forcing the cancellation of the show in front of 65,000 fans — the album is a deeply personal reckoning with legacy, limits and the cost of the persona he has inhabited for fifteen years. It is also a companion piece to the psychological thriller film of the same name. Production was led by Tesfaye alongside his core collaborators Cirkut, DaHeala, Max Martin, Mike Dean, Metro Boomin, Prince85 and Oneohtrix Point Never, with additional contributions from Pharrell Williams and Oscar Holter.

Musically it is the most expansive and genre-diverse entry in the trilogy — spanning the brooding synth-pop of "Without a Warning", the propulsive dancefloor energy of "Timeless" (featuring Playboi Carti), the Brazilian funk-influenced "São Paulo" (featuring Anitta), and the sweeping, haunted closer "The Abyss" (featuring Lana Del Rey). "Cry for Me" became the third single in February 2025, followed to US radio. "Red Terror" (featuring Future and Travis Scott) closes Side B with visceral intensity.

This first pressing of the album presents a carefully curated 11-track version of the record across a single LP, and includes two tracks exclusive to this pressing"Society" and "Runaway" — which do not appear on the standard digital release or the later Complete Edition. Lacquer cut by Kevin Reeves at East Iris Studios; EU/UK copies pressed by Optimal Media GmbH, Germany. An essential document of one of the most anticipated album releases of 2025.
