Kiss Land is the debut studio album by The Weeknd, released on Republic and XO Records. Following the critical acclaim of his three mixtapes (House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence), Kiss Land expanded the Weeknd's sound into more cinematic, globally influenced territory. Tesfaye has described it as a horror movie, inspired by the disorientation and loneliness of touring in unfamiliar countries, particularly Japan.

The production, primarily by Illangelo and DannyBoyStyles, is dense and atmospheric: layered synthesizers, cavernous reverbs and moments of startling loudness give the album a filmic quality. Professional opens with a spoken word intro that sets an uneasy tone. Belong to the World builds around a Portishead-inspired beat into one of Tesfaye's most powerful vocal performances. Wanderlust is the album's most accessible moment, a propulsive synth-pop track with a Pharrell-like energy. Kiss Land itself is a seven-minute centrepiece that captures the album's core feeling of desire and disconnection. Tears in the Rain closes with a sweeping, emotional finale.

Though it was a commercial underperformer on release relative to the hype, Kiss Land has been widely reappraised by fans as one of The Weeknd's finest bodies of work. This pressing presents all ten tracks across two LPs.
