Tommy is The Who’s ground-breaking rock opera — a sprawling, theatrical narrative that follows the journey of Tommy Walker, a “deaf, dumb, and blind kid” who becomes a spiritual pinball messiah. This half-speed remastered edition, cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, is pressed on two 180g heavyweight LPs, housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with an obi-strip, certificate of authenticity, and a 12-page libretto replicating the original artwork and lyrics.

Remastered by Jon Astley from the original stereo analogue tapes, the pressing delivers enhanced clarity, dynamic range, and warmth — ideal for the album’s orchestral flourishes, explosive drumming, and layered vocal harmonies. With contributions from Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon, Tommy includes iconic tracks like “Pinball Wizard,” “I’m Free,” “The Acid Queen,” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” The album’s release in 1969 marked a turning point in rock history, inspiring stage adaptations, a feature film, and generations of concept albums.
