Deftones' second studio album Around The Fur was originally released on Maverick Records in October 1997, produced by Terry Date at Studio Litho in Seattle. The album cemented the band's reputation with the ferocious My Own Summer (Shove It) and the dynamic Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away), blending heavy riffs with Chino Moreno's signature interplay between melody and aggression.

Stephen Carpenter's down-tuned guitar work drives tracks like the title track Around The Fur and the relentless Rickets, while Mascara and Dai The Flu showcase the band's atmospheric range. Max Cavalera of Sepultura guests on the closing Headup. The rhythm section of Chi Cheng on bass and Abe Cunningham on drums anchors the album throughout, with Frank Delgado contributing electronics.

This reissue presents the album on 180g vinyl for the first time, with a printed lyric insert. The vinyl tracklist features ten tracks across two sides, excluding the hidden tracks found on the original CD release.
