Description

Some Kind of Peace is the most personal album by Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds, written during a period of significant change in his life. Where his earlier work often maintained an emotional distance through layers of electronic processing, this album is more direct and vulnerable, foregrounding piano and voice alongside his signature blend of strings and electronics.

Collaborations with Bonobo (Loom) and JFDR (Back to the Sky, Woven Song) bring new textures to Arnalds's sound. The Bottom Line is a quietly devastating piece for piano and strings, while Zero opens the album with a sparse, contemplative piano figure. The album's twelve tracks create a meditation on vulnerability, connection and the search for stillness.
