Texas Flood is the debut studio album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, recorded in just two days at Jackson Browne's Downtown Studio in Los Angeles. Arriving at a time when blues guitar had largely retreated from the mainstream, the album announced Vaughan as a once-in-a-generation talent whose ferocious technique and deep feeling for the tradition reignited interest in electric blues worldwide.

Pride and Joy became Vaughan's signature song, its swaggering shuffle and razor-sharp tone making it a radio staple. Texas Flood, a slow blues originally recorded by Larry Davis, is transformed into a searing showcase for Vaughan's sustain and vibrato. Love Struck Baby opens the album at full throttle, while Lenny closes it with a beautiful, jazz-inflected instrumental dedicated to his wife. Rude Mood is a lightning-fast instrumental that demonstrates the sheer velocity of his picking.
