Collection: Muddy Waters Vinyl Records

Muddy Waters effectively invented Chicago electric blues. The Mississippi-born singer and slide guitarist's move north and his work at Chess Records through the 1950s reshaped what a blues record could sound like — and through The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds and Cream, his songs and his sound became one of the foundations of British and American rock.

The Chess pressings are sought-after but increasingly hard to find in good condition; the modern reissues from the original Chess tapes — particularly on Analogue Productions and Acoustic Sounds — are reference quality.
