Collection: Tina Turner Vinyl Records

Tina Turner's career divides cleanly in two. The Ike & Tina Turner Revue records of the 1960s and early 1970s — culminating in the Phil Spector-produced "River Deep – Mountain High" — established her as the most physically commanding R&B singer of her generation. The 1984 solo comeback with Private Dancer made her, at forty-four, the biggest female rock star in the world. Few performers have had two careers of that magnitude.

The vinyl pressings of Private Dancer and the post-comeback records are well-cut. The earlier Ike & Tina catalogue benefits hugely from the original Liberty-and-Blue Thumb pressings — the Revue was always a band tracked live in the room, and LP playback gives the rhythm section the room it needs.
